It's been one week since we came here :)

First things first.
The most exciting thing we've done so far: Get a puppy!!!
Pictures of Tank are at the bottom of the page.
Before seeing lovable Tank, bear with us as I explain our past week. :)

I'll have to say, the trip was pretty painful.
Well, as the start to the trip, we were stopped in Pittsburgh at the counter of United Airlines for not having a return ticket booked and not having a copy of the work visa. It was terrible because we thought we would miss our flight to Dulles. After being on the phone with Korea though, we finally were allowed to board, and we flew to Dulles. Look at the aircraft we got to ride on! Yes, that's Paul on the tarmac!

Before that though, look what I managed to get a snap of.. teehee. They're hugging!

Once in D.C., Paul took the 5 hour layover to take a itty bitty nap.

Here's a picture of us from the airport.

We got to ride on a GIGANTUOUS jumbo plane. Here's the food they served us. mmm.
Plane bibimbap, beef stew??, and maybe a pasta dish. They definitely need to talk to Kashi about catering their food... the flavor was pretty underwhelming.

This poor guy was stuck next to us the entire flight. He was pretty lame.. but also pretty nice. The only communication with him was to ask him to move so we could go potty...

Here we are in Korea! The first day we went outside of our apartment, Paul stepped in gum. Here he is trying to pry it off of his new Rainbows.

And here we are in front of Lotte World. We went with a co-worker and her friends to go bowl. I think I did the worst of everyone there... :)

Here's Paul drinking an Angel-in-us coffee. The names of the stores here are pretty terrible. We're not sure why they decided to call the coffee chain Angel-in-us... Also, notice the people repelling down the side of the building in the background. They're window cleaners and they dangle off the side of the building washing windows. It's Paul's favorite thing to watch here.

This is our first day of work. Paul is sitting at his desk. I sit right next to him in the teacher's lounge!

Here we are during training.

Anyway, we'll post more pictures as we take them... but without further ado meet the newest Beattie - Tank!!!!

He's a teacup yorkshire terrier. He's currently a little over 3 months old and weighs 500g. We adopted him from a girl named Rachael. She teaches English at an institution about 30mins away. He's about the size of a medium rat... he's REALLY small. But he thinks he's the biggest dude in the world! We added a bell to his collar today because we can never find him. He's the best in the world :) Also, he just got his summer haircut so his head looks about 2x bigger than his body... it's really cute :)

And for all of the Beatties out there, heres another picture of Paul. I'm taking good care of him and he is super happy! :)

First photo post from Korea :)

As aforementioned.... we're alive. Sorry to all of you who we kept on the edge of your seats.

Here's a preview of our last couple of days :)

At Eat n' Park.. to be perfectly honest with you... it was kind of gross...
We expected the magnificent one from W. VA (I know...) but were pretty disappointed at the quality and quantity of food there..

And then to the International!!! I think it was pretty great.. we weren't able to take pictures but we managed to sneak my favorite one anyway ;) We're so bad.

Here are some pictures from the regular exhibits
I really like Calder!

This was ganked from a cruise ship that ran out of money.. teehee...

This one is for Alli! We didn't get to see the t-rex (although they promised it would be up during the spring of '08!)

Some random picture from a random hall..

Before we left for Korea, we went to visit Paul's aunt Thelma and to have dinner with Paul's other Grandma.
On the way there, we saw this huge guy on this itty bitty pink bike :) I just had to snap a picture

Here is a picture of Paul's aunt Thelma. She looked really good for being 96!
She was really something else.

Here's a picture of Paul's Grandma. We ate at the Blue Flame near Aunt Thelma's.

And on the way back.. look at the mileage we hit!!

And look, Caroline was home so all of the chess pieces got to be out :)

Well, that's the end of the pictures from Pittsburgh!... well almost ;)
Look at the next post for new pictures!

No... we didn't get mugged or abducted

Sorry everyone. Updates have been slow due to just getting adjusted. We finally started work today!!! and according to Sam, we have the intarwebz!!!! So when we get out of work in 15 minutes, we'll head up to Paul's room where we should be connected to the world! A full post with pictures is way overdue, ya? So sit tight everyone - your wait will be rewarded ;)

In Pittsburgh!

I'm here! (Amy that is..)
It's been amazing seeing Paul's family again and we're having a boatload of fun buying new things and getting prepared for our long flight tomorrow.

We went to Steve and Barry's where Paul bought some jeans for 9 bucks. How cool is that?!
I'm contemplating whether I need new jeans now....

Paul decided that this pleather jacket looked pretty swank. It's a flashback to the 70s.... :)

Here's Paul's 'Grams'. She came and ate with us at Ruby Tuesdays where Paul and I both overate...

Here's a picture of Paul's Mommy and Grams together!

Can you see the resemblance?

And then we went to DSW to buy some new shoes...

We're going to super miss these places :( and the people :(
Here we come Korea!
