We are all having super fun! (Paul was telling me the other day that I should rename the blog Amy's Super Happy Fun Tank Time!) BTW, I am thinking about fostering another doggy. There are so many kill shelters in Korea it makes Amy Lee super sad :(
We almost adopted another doggy but he got adopted in the meantime. Oh well. There will be more doggies.
Here is a picture of classic Paul + Tank super fun time. This includes Paul playing one of his handhelds while Tank sleeps on him. They are both super energetic eh?
NOW THE GOOD PART.
So today, we went to Seoul to do some shopping. We bought 3 important things: a Rotring Newton (fountain pen), a bike helmet, and (drum roll please) a HANBOK!!!! That's right!!!
Ok first, the pen. Well, we went to go buy the hanbok from this other guy (more details to come later), and ended up at the biggest bookstore in Seoul. There they had several cases of fountain pens. Because they're all imports, they are marked up to obscene amounts. Well, some of them happened to be on sale so I decided to buy a nice heavy Rotring. When we got home, I started to fiddle around with it... and Paul got super sad and jealous... so I gave it to him. lol. He started dancing. It was pretty great.
Next, helmet. Here is the picture first.
I KNOW. We went to a motorbike district (they seem to have districts for anything you want to buy) where about 75% of the stores were closed (because it was Sunday). We managed to find a helmet store and after trying on numerous helmets... we realized how long Paul's head was. It's not that his head is humongous... well it is... but he has an abnormally long head (think Area 51 style). The helmet pictured above is an XL lol. They don't even make most helmets in XL. It's pretty great. What a dork, eh?
Here's the best part. Wait for it...........
YEAH!!!!! GO KOREA!!!!!!
hahahahahhaha :)
Isn't he cute?
So get this story. We found this posting on Dave's ESL cafe (the site where we found our jobs). This guy was a white American who had married a Korean girl and had gotten the hanbok tailored for his Korean wedding!!!!! He'd only worn it that one time and it was still in the box that said 신랑님 (groom). We got so many stares on the subway carrying the bag around. hahahahhahahahahahhahahha
I think it had been sitting in the box for awhile though because it kind of smelled like dried fish... I swear that everything in this country starts to smell like dried fish after awhile....
Oh also... as a side note.. the place where Paul got his helmet is a motorcycle / puppy mill puppy district... It's super strange but we passed by at least as many puppy stores as bike stores... anyway, I wouldn't ever buy a puppy from a pet store here ever anyway. Although some of them were definately tugging my heart strings... in any case, we bought Tank some new toys! He now has a rope that smells like mint, a fun webbed rubber ball thing that's perfect for teething puppies, and a hamburger shaped sqeaky toy. Tank loves the rubber ball thing the best. :)
Anyway, I will leave you all with a fun video of Tank.
Paul and I are having super fun
